JobResponsibilities
Pennoni is seeking are seeking an experienced Grant Writer who will primarily be responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to government funders, along with other grant-making organizations, with a focus on infrastructure, environmental resiliency, and quality of life projects for our municipal and agency clients.
Writing, developing, and assembling well-developed, creative, and persuasive grant applications to government institutions (and occasionally to foundation and corporate funders) to help communities obtain funds for projects.
Grants include but are not limited to:
Managing and assembling all supplemental materials required for proposals.
Serving as a liaison between the funding agency and client.
Conducting prospect research and cultivating and establishing personal contact and relationships with agency contacts and program officers.
Maintaining pipeline and calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, applications, and reports.
Tracking grant proposal effort to determine ROI.
Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, while meeting deadlines.
Other development related activities as they arise.

- Community Revitalization, HUD, and Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
- Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and Transit and Rail Freight Revitalization Investment Districts
- Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG)
- Brownfield Redevelopments o State Revolving Funds (SRF)FEMA Hazard Mitigation
- Recycling Programs Municipal Water and Wastewater Planning State DOTs, Environmental and Planning agencies

Required Attributes:
- Requiresat least a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of development and grant writing experience (including government grant writing), showing proven results in meeting target goals.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills, demonstrating keen understanding of online databases and other sources to locate geographic, demographic, and economic information.
- Solid understanding of how to prepare budgets and financial reports as they relate to proposals and grants.
- Deadline-oriented, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively with our technical staff in grant preparation to synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct way.
Preferred Attributes:
- A good sense of aesthetics and design for the use of graphics and the ability to create and incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the grant package.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign.
- Knowledge of CRM software a plus, specifically Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Grant Professional Certified, GPA
