Gps Technician

Job Duties:

• Responsible for maintaining, organizing, and managing all equipment on each worksite.
• Responsible for converting, than load into data collector.
• Load site models into data collector and earth moving equipment.
• Responsible for site calibrations for preparing of models.
• Transport and set up GPS base stations.
• Responsible for the measurement and setting of grade stakes during a construction project and entails studying survey stakes to determine the grade specification.
• Mark and read survey stake grade specification.
• Measure and set grade stake to guide earth-moving equipment during excavation and embankment operations.
• Utilize surveyor GPS data collector to adjust the elevation of an embankment and initial excavation.
• Take horizontal and vertical measurements to determine the ratio of grade stake to embankment.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of surveying equipment and its mode of operation.
• Verify grade specifications to notify equipment operators and construction supervisors of deviations.
• Study construction blueprints to determine the grade standard required for a fill, sloping or excavation operation.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience with Trimble GPS
• Must be able to verify machine controls, calibrate, and create machine control model and adjust.
• Previous construction experience
• Well versed in technical aspects of civil projects, including machinery and equipment.
• Understanding of safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills with strong problem-solving abilities.

Compensation:

After completion of 30 days of employment you will be offered medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance. All benefits will start on the first day of the following month. After 90 days of continued employment, you are eligible to use forty hours of sick time, and six paid holidays.
