The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct service in the form of counseling individuals, couples, families and groups on matters pertaining to family dynamics, parent-child interaction, couples communication, stress reduction and adjustment to military lifestyle.Qualifications: Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate possess the following:
- Possession of a current, valid, unrestricted license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Social Work, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Have engaged in 2 years (includes at least 2000 hours), of full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience.
- Two years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse.
- The candidate should have sufficient knowledge of the military lifestyle to be able to understand the specific demands of the military lifestyle, such as frequent separations, and high stress working environments that can impact individuals and families.
- The candidate should have an understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual and ability to apply family systems, brief solution-focused therapy and diagnostic skill needed when interviewing clients.
- The candidate must have knowledge of family violence treatment principles for victims and offenders.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
- Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree.
- Social Work from a school accredited by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree.
- Psychology from a doctoral program approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) or an equivalent degree.
