Job Summary:
As the General Manger of our American Industries businesses located in Sharon, PA and Jerseyville, IL you will have overall Operational, Employee and P&L responsibility and accountability. You will build, grow, and develop the leadership team while collaborating and working with other Stucki businesses as one team to build and provide world class products and experiences for Stucki customers. As General Manager, you will work with Sr. Leadership to establish long-term goals, strategies, and plans; while collaborating on the strategic direction and business decisions through effective leadership of the team; be accountable to meet sales and profitability targets; and leverage and partner with the supply chain to provide an outstanding customer experience with quality outcomes. This position is accountable for developing staffing, capital requirements, succession plans, workforce development, and continuous improvement plans.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Provide leadership, establish strategic direction, build culture, and drive the organization to exceed company objectives by utilizing Continuous Improvement.
- Lead and motivate the team to deliver on the long-term organizational strategy and short-term operational and budgetary requirements.
- Develop leaders and provide opportunities as part of a succession planning strategy.
- Manage the P&L and maximize profitability by establishing business plans, achieving budgetary requirements through tactical execution, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Partner with the sales and delivery teams to deliver best in class services to our direct and indirect customers.
- Identify customers' needs and develop solutions beneficial to the customer and A. Stucki.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to enhance a reliable recruitment process, training/development, and employee retention program.
- Accountable to uphold company policy and procedure and to ensure all safety measures are being followed
- Coach and mentor supervisory / staff personnel to develop their ability to perform all required tasks
- Take ownership of and manage the Continuous Improvement Newspaper process
- Proactively ensures that all safety protocols are followed as safety is a Core Value at Stucki.
- Drives quality initiatives to ensure that only products of the highest quality and safety are delivered to our customers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong business acumen. Demonstrated proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents, financial reports and legal documents.
- Credible leader within and outside the organization. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication.
- Strong drive for results. Demonstrated ability to manage strategic relationships and effective use of problem-solving skills.
- Strong focus on execution. Demonstrated record of developing/modifying business plans and setting/establishing and meeting goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, promote unity and teamwork, and coach and motivate individuals.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to implement Lean Principles.
- Strong computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Bachelor's degree; in business or related field preferred. Comparable experience will be considered.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of management experience required, preferably within a related field. Minimum of five (5) years related industry experience preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel required up to 25%.
- Rail experience preferred
