Position Overview:
Lead and direct the Liquid Asphalt line of business for the Texas Region. This position will be required to support terminal operations and collaborate with terminal manager, Operating Company Presidents, Finance leadership, and logistics to budget, direct and execute the liquid AC plan. Competency requirements include business and financial acumen, customer focus, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages overall liquid asphalt sourcing and supply function for TX.
- Interacts with AMAT liquid leadership, Regional President and Company Presidents and their teams to manage liquid asphalt "balance" with HMA. (Bid success, backlog, market intel, etc.)
- Heavy interaction with TX financial team, involved in budgeting, regular/ongoing liquid LOB financial projections, etc.
- Manages relationships, and commercial/operational level liquid asphalt activity with external rack asphalt suppliers.
- Solicits supplier job quotes from liquid suppliers.
- Significant ongoing interaction with operational and quality teams to manage TX liquid needs to manage terminal outages and facilitate Logistics/trucking and mix design decisions.
- Ensure that all operations are in compliance with all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environmental impact, health and welfare and accounting regulations.
- Promote a safe working culture for all liquid AC terminal operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- Ten or more years in a management role within the construction industry- specifically in asphalt, aggregates, construction and/or equipment.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Demonstrated success in managing large groups of employees.
- High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.
- Strong work ethic and high standards for safety in the workplace.
- Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.
- Strong customer focus.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback.
- Ability to prepare annual budgets and work with and/or administer budget; ability to answer questions and present financial data to Regional President and others.
