Job description

Compensation Range:

  • $24 - $27 per hour, part-time 24 - 30 hours per week, second shift (~2p-10p).

In this role you will be a parttime to full time and do all of the following duties described below. The candidate that best aligns with this role will have experience in inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems for any issues at the Avenues World School off Tenth Ave and W25th/W 26th in Manhattan. We are looking for experience in professional interior painting and drywall repairs skills and experience strongly desired or may have experience in schedule repairs for faulty equipment or damaged structures. They also perform general maintenance of the facility and grounds. We are looking for someone who wants to specialize in independent work, extremely detailed, enjoys small projects, fast pace, and structured environment. Position Description:

Assists trade mechanics and/or electricians on daily work orders, small capital projects, routine preventative maintenance, routine work, new installations, and cleanup.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Assists HVAC and electrical mechanics in performing preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment, examining for wear and tear and making required repairs as needed.   
  • Performs PM tasks on items such as roof drains, shop cleanup, and all other assigned areas.   
  • Adheres to applicable safety rules. 
  • Performs and/assists with activities such as painting and priming of interior and exterior walls, hanging, and finishing sheetrock, hanging white boards, installing fixtures, etc.
