Responsibilities:
- Perform dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning
- Administer local anesthetics and perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Provide preventive dental care including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and proper dental care
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and CT scans
- Collaborate with dental specialists for complex cases or referrals
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records using electronic medical records systems
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure infection control and patient safety
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Valid state dental license in good standing
- Proven experience as a dentist or in a similar role preferred
- Excellent knowledge of oral health care principles and practices
- Proficient in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, CAD, Epic, etc.
- Strong understanding of medical coding and documentation requirements
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex dental procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner
