Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Fund Accountant to join our team on a temporary basis. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing fund accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards during a transitional period. The Interim Fund Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team and maintaining operational continuity.
Responsibilities:
Fund Accounting:
Perform day-to-day accounting activities related to the funds, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Maintain accurate records of investment transactions, income, expenses, and valuations.
Monitor cash flows and ensure proper recording and reporting of fund activities.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports for investors, management, and regulatory authorities.
Generate fund performance reports, NAV calculations, and other financial analyses as required.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Compliance and Audit Support:
Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and compliance with industry standards.
Assist in the coordination of audit activities, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
Address inquiries and requests related to audits and compliance assessments.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and participate in implementing improvements to streamline fund accounting operations.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust internal controls and procedures.
Transition Support:
Facilitate a smooth transition for permanent staff, ensuring proper documentation and transfer of responsibilities.
Provide guidance and support to team members during the transition period.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA certification preferred.
Proven experience (5+ years) in fund accounting within the Public or PE industries.
Strong understanding of investment instruments, fund structures, and accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools; experience with fund accounting systems is advantageous.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
