Minimum 1+ years Special education experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team near Colfax, Indiana. As a Full-Time Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with other educators and support staff, and ensuring a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction to students using evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom climate that promotes social-emotional development.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other collaborative activities.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in Special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
- Valid Indiana Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with elementary students in a Special education setting.
- Knowledge of and experience with the IEP process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and engage in professional development.
