A front desk/patient service representative that will help with the regular office responsibilities by answering phones, greeting patients and performing clerical duties. Must be professional, friendly, and courteous.
Basic Function and Responsibilities:
- Computer skills and basic math skills.
- Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
- Some knowledge of the optometry industry is preferred, but not required.
- Greet and assist all patients initially as they enter the office.
- Check in patients, verify all patient and insurance information, and scan insurance cards.
- Some knowledge of medical and vision insurances is preferred but not required.
- Calculate patient charges and collect any applicable fees and/or copays.
- Order and dispense contact lens orders
- Check out patients by verifying Electronic Medical Record for accuracy and completion, ensuring that all diagnosis codes are entered and accurate, and verify the correct patient insurance is in the computer system.
- Answer phone calls, direct phone traffic, and make decisions regarding scheduling both routine and urgent.
- Must have at least a high school diploma.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
