As we continue to grow, our Sonsray Fleet Services division is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Thermo King dealership in Vernon, CA. The position reports to the Service Manager.
The Forklift Operator will support our Parts and Service Department team and will be responsible for operating a stand-up forklift to safely transport pallets and large refrigeration equipment to the appropriate location in the warehouse, yard, truck, and/or trailer. The Forklift Operator will also be responsible for organizing and stocking parts in the warehouse and handling shipping and receiving.
ESSENTIAL JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate warehouse equipment (Hand truck, sit-down forklift, and pallet jack) to move stock and reorganize inventory.
- Load and unload pallets of parts, engines, and refrigeration units onto trailers, vans, flatbeds, containers, and warehouse racks.
- Receive and route incoming freight to proper specified areas in the warehouse and yard using necessary equipment.
- Responsible for stocking, restocking, staging, and organizing parts and refrigeration units in the warehouse.
- Prepare orders for shipment by pulling cartons/pallets, wrapping, packing, and labeling the products.
- Follow written instructions on shipping orders and/or pick lists.
- Responsible for inventory cycle counts.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse, shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining a clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect warehouse equipment at the start /end of the shift.
- Label cartons as needed.
- Retrieve product from upper racks as needed for employees.
- Use hand-held RF guns/scanners to record the relocation of products from storage to the staging area.
- Comply with all road signs and operate vehicles within their limits and weather environment.
- Follow all Auto and Equipment Safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as required and assigned by the manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ years of warehouse experience and operating a forklift is necessary.
- Able to maneuver large equipment while driving a forklift.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Parts knowledge is a plus.
- Help the team in keeping an organized and structured parts warehouse.
- Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and respectful dialogue with staff at all times.
- Ability to work well with other team members.
- Safety conscious, with the ability to follow rules and procedures.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to walk, use hands, and fingers, bend, carry, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation: $18.00 - $21.00 an hour DOE
