An esteemed company in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in facilitating the movement of wood bundles throughout the production process, ensuring environmental and safety compliance at all times.
The position offers an opportunity to work in various areas of the plant, including Receiving, Shipping, Treating Plant, Stacker, or Kiln, depending on operational needs.
These Forklift Operator openings are for 2nd Shift: 4:30 pm - 3:00 am. OT pays time & a half.
Key Responsibilities:
* Adhere to all environmental and safety procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions or non-compliance issues.
* Effectively handle the unloading and loading of trucks, or tram cars, depending on the assigned area.
* Safely operate forklifts to move materials throughout the plant, ensuring no damage to the materials.
* Efficiently place spacers between bundles and on the ground as required.
* Participate in training sessions and safety meetings to stay updated on best practices.
* Conduct daily forklift checks, maintain operators' checklist, and report any issues to the leadership team.
* Be adaptable to work in different areas of the plant as required by the Forklift Operator role.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED is recommended.
* Ability to learn and obtain a forklift operating permit.
* Adept at working independently with minimal supervision and performing tasks accurately and thoroughly.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think and reason effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
* Demonstrated alignment with the company"s values and standards.
