CPC is seeking candidates for our Food Service Coordinator position.

Summary: Hire, train, supervise and evaluate the food service personnel, including cooks, substitute cooks, and kitchen volunteers; meet guidelines of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate the management of daily operations of the kitchens and staff, while ensuring staffing is adequate in all kitchens.
- Prepare and cook nutritious foods for Head Start, Early Head Start and Pre-K classroom children and teachers, while following portion and serving guidelines.
- Create and develop monthly menus with CACFP child nutrition standards and guidelines. Manage a budget with inventory control.
- Collaborate with nutrition staff to ensure all menus include fresh, healthy options, focusing on homemade, standardized recipes. Manage appropriate and allowable substitutions.
- Monitor compliance with CACFP, assist with data entry, attend trainings as needed.
- Track all child allergies and food restrictions, ensuring alternatives are provided as needed.
- Review, order and maintain food inventory, complete and receive orders of products from multiple vendors.
- Train and implement health and sanitation in conjunction with USDA, state guidelines, HAACP and health department regulations.
- Conduct and monitor on-site inspections of food preparation sites.
- Manage and train cooks, substitute cooks, and kitchen volunteers.
- Verify accuracy of time/payroll records and follow accurate accounting practices.
- Evaluate the nutrition program according to state regulations.
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Culinary or a related field.
- 3 years' experience preferred OR an equivalent of education and work experience.
- Related supervisory work experience required.
- Serv Safe certification required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment is helpful and preferred.
