Company Name:Fred Meyer Position Type:Employee FLSA Status:Non-Exempt / Union/Non-Union Minimum Pay Range:15.99 Maximum Pay Range:18.85 Position Summary: Order and stock merchandise, cut in new items, maintain department planograms, control inventory, and maintain the assigned section of the Floral department. Essential Job Functions: Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service Engage with customers and assist with their floral needs and questions Merchandise product to reflect the season and maintain department visual standards Adhere to floral training/store procedures according to Company policies/procedures and as directed by the Food Manager and Floral Specialist Assist the Food Manager and Store Director on special promotions for local events and holidays Promote and follow Company initiatives Maintain a clean, fresh, floral department at all times Maintain excellent quality and saleable condition of indoor plant and cut floral merchandise Stock and maintain merchandise displays, including watering, grooming, pruning, and rotating Plan and prepare merchandising for holidays and seasons Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation Minimum Position Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus one year experience in florist/floral arranging duties; or combination of relevant education and experience Minimum 18 years of age Ability to pass drug test Knowledge of plants, cut flowers and arrangements Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work all floral holidays, weekends/overtime occasionally, and any shift Ability to work within strict time frames/resolute deadlines Ability to operate: scissors, stem clippers, wire, box cutters, helium tanks, floral foam/tape, watering can, soil, decorator cubes, flower containers, refrigeration coolers, telephone, office supplies, knife, spray paint Accuracy/attention to detail Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to continue education Any licenses or certificates required by federal and/or state Desired Previous Job Experience: Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure The final rate of pay is determined at store level based on prior equivalent work experience.
