- Work with office, fleet, and dock staff to facilitate accurate and timely movement of nets, mail, food, etc.
- Manifest all outgoing freight and distribute these manifests in a timely manner to our Bristol Bay management team.
- Inventory and log all incoming fisherman freight.
- Expedite the movement of supplies as instructed.
- Must have the ability to work well under pressure, 12 or more hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Must be willing and able to live and work in confined quarters in a multi-cultural environment.
- An enthusiasm to assist in other tasks and grow with the facility.
- Capable of working outdoors in Alaskan field conditions as needed.
- Must be able to work well with fellow employees and cooperate with other departments.
- Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
- Must be able to work and communicate well within a diverse team of coworkers.
- Must have general computer knowledge in order to create and update logs and manifests.
- Must be willing to work all hours of the day and night.
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage one's time and activities in an efficient manner.
- Must be adaptable, reactive, and able to switch roles on short notice.
- Must possess an ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
COMPENSATION:
- Pay rate depends on experience. This is an hourly position that is eligible for overtime pay. In Alaska, overtime is one and one-half times the regular hourly rate and is paid for hours worked over 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours are worked in a week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Candidate must be able to consistently perform the expected job duties for 12 or more hours per day, 7 days a week, through seasonal peak operations.
Some of the work to be performed will occur in an office setting, however much of the job will be performed outdoors in potentially inclement conditions consistent with Western Alaska weather in the summer months. OBI Seafoods-Naknek supports a fast-paced fleet office and processing plant which produces fresh, frozen, and canned seafood products. The working environment can be noisy and active, have varied ambient temperatures, and have the odors associated with general seafood products. Workplace hazards include slippery docks; fast-paced traffic such as forklifts, vehicles, cranes, and shipping containers; and potentially dangerous tidal waters flowing alongside our dock platform.
Working Schedule:
This position is seasonal in nature. The estimated timeframe is mid-May through mid-August, but this schedule could vary depending upon the timing of the Bristol Bay sockeye season.
