The Mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, as well as ensuring the road worthiness of company equipment.
- We operate late model tractors and trailers
- Up to $30/hour based on experience
- $2.00/hour 3rd Shift Differential - Sunday - Thursday, 11PM - 7:30AM
The ideal candidate will have: - Maintenance background in the trucking industry
- Experience with Kenworth tractors
- Experience with Cummins engines
Responsibilities:- Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required
- Move trucks and trailers in and out of shop for maintenance
- Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order
- Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards
- Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned
- Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment and submits reports indicating condition of equipment
- Comprehend and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) process
- Install, diagnose and repair GeoTab telematic devices
- Perform trailer preps
- Trailer and hose inspections per HM-183 standards
- Perform work on frame rail and sub frame
- Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the companies Safety, Health, Environmental and Security policies
