This opening is for a full-time position with the ability to work day, some evening and weekend hours.

Job Description:

As a Fitness & Wellness Specialist, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

• Assisting with the fitness/wellness operations including facilities, programs, and budget.
• Assist in implementing a comprehensive wellness program for CKV--TBHC residents that is holistic in nature and addresses mind, body, and spirit dimensions, provide a variety of land and water based programs emphasizing strength, endurance and flexibility.
• Instructing or scheduling individual/group classes and providing exercise programs for all residents.
• Stimulating fitness and wellness programs for resident and staff; providing on-going educational opportunities using in-house expertise and community resources for both staff and residents. Integrate wellness principles with other departments to establish wellness applications and a continuum of services.
• Operating a tracking system to monitor and document program outcomes quarterly. Use as a motivator for increase participation and develop and implementing recognition programs. Maintaining confidentiality regarding all resident/staff information.
• Conducting appropriate and effective orientation to new members of the Harvey S. Kline Wellness Center and/or the Foust Fitness Room.
• Selecting and performing appropriate wellness assessments for all members of the wellness center and team members eligible for CKV sponsored wellness program.
• Assisting with daily Aquatic Center operations and maintenance.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or a degree in a related discipline is required.
• 3-5 years related experience working with older adults, or in the implementation of comprehensive wellness and fitness operations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and ARC Lifeguard Certification upon hire or within 90 days.
• Must possess the ability to follow and apply exercise norms/protocols established by American College of Sports Medicine.
• Must possess the ability to instruct, motivate and direct peers, residents and staff.
• Certification with ACSM, ACE, AFFA or SFA preferred.
• Maintain certifications by attending seminars and training to keep current of fitness/wellness trend.
• Must possess strong interpersonal communications skills needed including effective public speaking skills.
• Minimum of computer software experience in Word and Excel, experience with fitness management software preferred.
