The Fitness Manager is responsible to oversee the fitness center to ensure the delivery of professional, high quality, safe and innovative health and fitness services and programs to our membership. This high-profile position has a broad range of responsibilities and should be considered the functional "fitness expert". The Fitness Manager is responsible for the management and revenues associated with all fitness related services and programs within the club. The candidate must possess the right combination of people skills, enthusiasm for service, and a passion for sales. The FM must have a very clear understanding of the following areas of emphasis:
- The Invited Service Standard operating procedures, support of the standards through training and practice for fitness staff in all areas
- Fitness operations (member service, communication, marketing, staffing, training, staff development and supervision)
- Fitness program development, implementation, and evaluation
- The Fitness Manager will report directly to the Sports Club Director/Fitness Director/General Manage
- Lead the Personal Training and Group Fitness staff
Day to Day:
- Work with the Sports Club Director/Fitness Director to create quarterly strategic sales plans
- Achieve quarterly and yearly fitness revenue goals set forth by the company
- Manage and motivate the fitness team to ensure budgeted sales goals are achieved or surpassed
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing and hiring personal fitness trainers, Pilates trainers, and group fitness instructors
- Create and train Personal Trainer plans to support revenue growth
- Ensure staff adheres to the corporate policies and procedures
- Maintain the fitness center and ensure everything is stocked, clean, orderly and in working order
- Report equipment and facility issues to the Director and appropriate vendors, complete repair requests and follow up with contract
- Ensure exceptional customer service by staff through the development and implementation of training/staff incentive programs, and continuing education opportunities to improve department.
- Oversee New member integration and facilitate FitStart bookings
- Track all FitStart activity, conversion rates and new sales
- Motivate the fitness team to ensure budgeted sales goals are achieved or surpassed
- Assist in payroll processing and budget forecasting with Director
- Develop member engagement activities to educate and promote programs and services
- Regularly update and refresh marketing throughout the fitness center and Club
- Manage the Group Exercise Program. Create schedules adjust classes to meet members needs. Track class averages and certifications. Stay up with exercise trends
- Update club webpage and Facebook page
- Maintain Member's First App for the Fitness department
- Maintain the fitness center and ensure everything is stocked, clean, orderly and in working order equipment issues to the Fitness Director
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, exposure to temperature changes, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Primary tools/equipment used in this position and approximate weight:\Fitness Accessories (5-30 lbs.)
Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each Employee Partner to perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed
Attendance Requirements:
- Monday through Friday hours vary
- Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays
Ability to work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks at any given time
Attend meetings for Director and participate as requested
