Senior Derivatives Trader
As an Investments team member, you’ll play a key role in the innovative investment strategies that enable our company and our financial products to serve our customers and their families when they need us most – now and in the future.
Derivatives at Genworth is a strategic resource, employed to manage risk to capital and earnings. You will be part of a larger team responsible for understanding the business context, considering alternative solutions, gaining approval for execution of a preferred program within approval constraints, executing and booking trades and making sure that all downstream reports and processes reflect positions. Trade derivative products including rates, currency, equity and related tools such as Treasuries
Book trades and ensure valuation and risk information flows to all downstream systems
Adhere to limits and policies
Understand longer-term developments in products, uses, regulation and market structure
Contribute to optimization of portfolio, considering transaction cost, accounting, capital, cash and collateral constraints
Collaborate with Risk Management and Portfolio Management to understand multiple dimensions of business challenge, goals and constraints to shape recommendations
Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical discipline
~Understanding of derivatives environment including dealers and exchanges, products, end users and their applications, regulation, accounting, operations, and governance
~ Understanding of financial theory, derivative math and models
~ Creative thinker who works well in a team-oriented environment
