The Plant Controller to be a key member and business partner with the operations team located at the manufacturing plants in North America. Plant Controller is responsible for the review and monitoring of all activities occurring at the manufacturing facilities involving or having a financial impact on the Company. Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly operational reporting and analysis. Responsible for the control environment at the plants.

 

 

• Oversee operational financial and accounting aspects including financial planning of annual budget and quarterly forecast of plants in North America.
• Responsible for monthly financial operations close and reporting cycle, manufacturing variances, production reports including overhead analysis.
• Ability to plan, organize and provide analysis in all phases of the accounting process to assure the plants has the tools needed to operate in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Analyze and review daily, weekly and monthly Operations KPI. Provide detailed commentary on the variances to the target.
• Lead all aspects of product costing including creation and implementation of labor rates, machine rates and overhead rates by developing and updating costing methods and processes. Participates in the RFPs.
• Manage a strong internal control environment around inventory, and monitor the controls to ensure they are being adhered to. Identify and resolve inventory-related issues by analyzing data, defining problems, providing valid conclusions and recommending changes for improvement.
• Responsible for monitoring compliance for a range of procedures and internal controls relating to plant activity.
• Lead the Cost savings initiatives by understanding Losses Pillar activity for the North America premix sites.
• Responsible for capital expenditure project accounting including ROI analysis , project spend vs. plan, and initial fixed asset setup
• Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the production, quality, maintenance, supply chain and other support departments by providing analytical support and data in a timely manner. Participate in operational decision making.
• The candidate must have in-depth experience of working across these areas, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work effectively with internal departments.
• Manage the functions of the Plant Finance Operations department, including supervision and development of Operations Accounting staff

 

 

• Participate in special projects/actions teams
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five year's related experience.
• CPA license preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journal s, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

 

 

Typical Environmental Conditions

• May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e., office equipment or light traffic).

 

• Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in CA. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The annual salary for CA based employees for this role is $93,000 to $155,000.
