Description/Job Summary
Farm Credit Illinois is an agricultural financial cooperative owned by 16,000 farmer, rural landowner, and agribusiness voting stockholder members in the southern 60 counties of Illinois. As a Farm Credit Illinois Finance Intern, you'll explore finance/accounting careers and gain valuable on-the-job experience in budgeting, financial analysis and accounting applied to agricultural lending and crop insurance.
Expected weekly experiences include completion of meaningful projects and job shadowing opportunities. In this role you will support the business planning function, portfolio analysis reporting, and finance/accounting project work.

Required Skills
Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, work ethic and integrity. Interns will be integrated into the Finance Team but will also need the initiative to learn and work independently. Proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook software applications are required.
Preferred Skills
Strong Excel experience preferred along with coursework in accounting and finance or experience with financial analysis, reporting, and/or budgeting.
Required Education
Candidates for an internship position must be enrolled as college sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students for the Fall 2023 semester with the intent to be enrolled as students in Fall 2024 as well.
Preferred Education
Desired degree programs of candidates include finance, accounting, business administration, agricultural business, agricultural economics; or another related degree program.

The Finance Intern will work full-time (40 hours) during the 2024 Summer Semester. This internship will beginMay 13th and end August 1st. Farm Credit Illinois' business hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The internship is based at the central office in Mahomet, Illinois - and any summer relocation (if needed) will be the intern's responsibility.
