Field Technician (B-Mechanic)

Position: Gas Field Mechanic (Full Time)

Location: New York Tarrytown

Southern Cross has immediate openings for Gas Field Mechanics qualified and experienced in Gas Meter Set Change-out, Turn-on, Relight, Integrity Testing, Valve Inspection, Leak Survey and Leak Investigation. Southern Cross is a highly respected company that has continuously provided field services and equipment for utilities since 1946 (70 Years).

Maintains Full NGA Operator Qualifications for GDS (Gas Distribution Services) B-Mechanic.

Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in Gas Distribution Services Field, understanding M & S Plates.

Proficient at using current technology; smartphone, tablet.

Or Equivalent academic education and experience Skills:

Read maps and navigate congested areas in large cities

Adept using hand tools and equipment

Full NGA Operator Qualifications for GDS (Gas Distribution Services) B-Mechanic.

Must provide their current NGA Transcript before we can schedule an interview.

Driver's license required.

Good vision with or without correction.

Physically able to bend, squat and move heavy objects and use a pipe wrench and other hand tools and to lift and reach overhead

Compensation: Equivalent to training, knowledge and experience for the area.
