Position Overview

The Field Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating completed fielding, to include make-ready through the application process and construction completion. The Field Engineering Team Lead will report to Field Engineering Manager and work closely with the Engineering Project Manager. Also responsible for collecting and collating field data required to facilitate OSP designs. Works on-site, analyzing real-world conditions, enhancing efficiency, and customer service. They will assist our organization in increasing client satisfaction, improving efficiency, managing risk, diagnosing problems, and complying with laws and regulations. 

The ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent technical skills, be a good communicator, and pay meticulous attention to detail. The exceptional field engineer should diagnose and resolve problems, improve efficiency, mitigate risk, encourage business growth, and enhance and sustain relations with clients.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Submit completed make-ready to utility pole owners
  • Facilitate and perform Rideouts with Pole Owners and Existing Attachers
  • Coordinate, track, and report status of make field collection, ready applications, and construction
  • Work closely with the EPM and Design team to coordinate priority schedules
  • Conduct field and site visits relevant to project information, including exact measurements of existing equipment, site details, digital images, etc. which will then be coordinated with the OSP Engineer for further design
  • Read and interpret client records and drawings
  • Collect pertinent information to apply for permits and easements
  • Perform inspections during and after construction to ensure compliance with original designs and customer specifications
  • Work closely with Field Engineering team lead to ensure priority schedule is followed
  • Work safely and independent of supervision
  • Conduct research to diagnose and develop solutions
  • Perform Quality Control of completed fielding and provide feedback
  • Work safely and independent of supervision
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

 

Requirements
  • Must have 2-5 Years Field Engineering experience
  • Must have 1-2 Years Make Ready Experience
  • Experience with ArcGIS or similar design platform
  • Experience working utility pole owners 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Rotation and travel flexibility 
  • Competence in design methodology, process, and metrics for Aerial and UG fiber design
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Valid driver's license

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather, stand, and drive for extended periods of time
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of your arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting standing, and handling materials up to 75lbs
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
