Responsible for facilitating learning and teaching in integrated, inclusive preschool classroom
(ages three to five years). Duties include: planning and implementing children's educational
program; supporting and following through with children's IEP goals and accommodations;
planning and facilitating small and large group instruction; performing daily administrative
functions; directing preschool paraprofessionals; attending annual IEP staffings; attending
Early Childhood Education staff development training; writing children's progress reports;
communicating with staff and/or parents regarding child's progress; conducting parent
conferences; tending to the personal needs of children including lifting, holding, diapering,
feeding and toilet training; preparing class materials; performing clerical duties; preparing and
disinfecting room and toys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction that is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards,
Colorado Early Learning, and Development Guidelines, and the district’s
plan of instruction. Develop and implement lessons that connect to a
variety of content areas and use appropriate evidence-based,
developmentally-appropriate instructional practices conducive to the
growth and development of each child.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders including families, paraeducators,
colleagues, and special service providers for the benefit of students.
Communicate with parent(s)/guardian(s) regarding student progress,
family/student needs, and daily/monthly activities. Conduct parent
conferences. Plan and share feedback on student progress with special
service providers and/or other stakeholders significant adults.
Direct paraeducators in the classroom by delegating work, training, and
resolving problems
Communicate with parent(s)/guardian(s) regarding student progress,
family/student needs, and daily/monthly activities. Conduct parent
conferences. Attend IEP meetings. Support and implement student’s IEP
goals and accommodations
Participate in professional learning communities and staff meetings.
Use formal and informal methods to assess student learning, provide
feedback, and use results to inform planning and instruction. Complete
required data collection. Write student progress reports.
Develop an environment that addresses the physical, social-emotional,
cognitive, and health and safety domains that facilitate learning for
students both in the classroom and on the playground. Provide a variety of
stimulating materials for children to choose to use independently. Promote
quality teacher-child interactions throughout the environment. Adhere to
all health and child care licensing rules and regulations
Closely supervise children in the school building, classroom and on the
playground
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.78 - $43.17 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
