Department Overview
The Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California and has an ambitious goal of electrifying 3 million vehicles by 2030. CET leads a ~$0.6B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to increase the adoption of clean vehicles in California as we work to address one of the largest contributors to climate change – and we need a motivated, organized strategic thinker to help us expand this portfolio. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure, reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative strategies to unlock additional benefits to EV drivers and the grid.
Team Overview:
PG&E believes that if properly managed, EVs can provide a quadruple value stack of reliability, resiliency, affordability, and lower GHG emissions for the grid and for our customers. The first step in achieving that vision is facilitating the transition to electric vehicles for our customers by simplifying the process, educating customers on the benefits of EVs, and connecting customers to available resources and incentives. CET’s EV Customer Programs team manages a robust portfolio of EV programs and contributes to the overarching strategy for finding solutions to customer barriers to EV adoption.
Position Summary
The EV Customer Advisor role is focused on guiding customers through their transportation electrification (TE) journey and serving as a centralized point of contact within PG&E. EV Advisors will cover a wide breadth of TE topics and serve as subject matter experts to enable the electrification of medium-and-heavy duty fleet vehicles. This role will be in direct support of CET’s upcoming TE Advisory programs expected to launch in Q4 2024.
CET’s TE Advisory Services programs will include information and resources related to site selection, fleet electrification planning, rate selection, load management, vehicle to grid integrations, and everything in between. The program will rely heavily on internal cross collaboration efforts with BES, Service Planning and Design, Distribution Planning, Vehicle to Grid Implementation, Marketing, and IT.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, has subject matter expertise in transportation electrification and the role of the utility within that process, experience working with fleets, is enthusiastic about finding solutions for day-to-day problems, and is a customer champion.
The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require.
