Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, detail-oriented individual to join our public relations team as an Executive Communications PR Manager. The right candidate has communications experience working both internally alongside an executive leadership team and externally with media to tell great stories. The right candidate must be an effective storyteller and have a proven ability to execute communications plans, excellent writer and verbal communicator, and have a natural ability to think strategically while delivering tactical results.
As a key member of the team, this individual will work to support our executive team and be responsible for the development and implementation of internal communications and employee engagement strategies. You will also be responsible for working externally with media to identify strategic opportunities for our executives to share their story. You are able to work across teams with stakeholders at various levels, and with PR teams across the organization. You will be expected to develop relationships and earn trust with leaders, managing both big-picture ideas and small details and demonstrating strong judgment and counsel. This role is based out of Seattle or Washington D.C.
Key job responsibilities
• Build and establish an internal communications strategy in partnership with leaders
• Increase employee engagement across the organization
• Execute day-to-day communications strategies and campaigns, including ongoing storytelling, profiling of executives and key programs
• Draft content for senior executives for town halls, videos, new program announcements and operational updates to strategically drive engagement and visibility
• Partner closely with the broader PR team, Product, Marketing, Brand, Policy and Community teams to ensure integration and readiness with external communications
• Implement tracking and reporting to measure progress against organizational objectives tied to employee engagement
• Be a trusted partner and advisor to senior leaders
• Write strategic plans and messaging; pitch and secure top media and external speaking opportunities
• Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages
• Draft and manage approvals for internal and external materials
• Build excellent relationships with key media
