Assists the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in monitoring and managing executive assignments and activities. Ensures effective liaison, appropriate confidentiality, and coordination with academic and administrative departments. Interfaces with Cabinet and senior staff, elected officials, state and city administrators and other school community stakeholders on behalf of the CEO. Provides day to day management and supervision of the administrative activities of the CEO's Office including but not limited to managing the CEO's schedule, responding to all correspondence, researching and providing CEO with applicable background material relating to meetings, conferences, and special assignments. Represents CEO at meetings and functions as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively with and provides support to senior administration to coordinate special projects and initiatives that are high priorities of the CEO and the District.
- Develops and manages infrastructure and conditions for regular communication and performance management led by the CEO with the district's senior leaders.
- Monitors the status/action of CEO cabinet delegated assignments and tasks.
- Responds to information requests from Baltimore City Public Schools central office departments, individual schools, and the public on matters relating to services, programs, and/or needs.
- Prepares reports, memoranda, correspondence and other documents for the CEO.
- Assists in directing communications from the CEO to all departments on matters relating to operational policies and procedures.
- Examines, interprets, advises on and implements administrative policies and procedures.
- Conducts administrative and organizational studies, and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Collects, compiles, analyzes data, assembles information for and prepares reports.
- Arranges meetings, processes sensitive and confidential information, receives and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Manages office budget and assigned support staff.
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school boards policies and the professional standards.
Maximum Salary 100985.00
Minimum Salary 95000.00
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field. Masters preferred. Degree must be from an accredited college or institution.
- Three years administrative support experience in a similar capacity preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of administrative analysis.
- Knowledge of office practices and protocol.
- Ability to plan, organizes, control and innovate administrative functions.
- Ability to set work priorities and assign work.
- Ability to interpret the administrative policies and procedures of City Schools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and presentation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, external agency officials, Mayor's Office, foundations, etc.
- Proficient knowledge and use of standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment with variable work hours and work days.
