REPORTS TO: Manager of Events and Promotions
SUPERVISES: Coordinator, Events and Promotions
WORKING HOURS: This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The incumbent is expected to devote such time and energy as is reasonably necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Position may require further availability evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. Oversees and ensures all promotions and special events functions are properly and effectively coordinated for River Rock Casino.
SUMMARY: Provides support to the Marketing/Player Development Department by coordinating all promotions and events. Assists in event analysis as requested by the Department Management. Acts as a liaison for as it relates to employee and/or customer relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for successful coordination of all promotions and events; ensures that all timelines and event schedules are met;
  2. Assists the Events and Promotions Manager reviewing market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates and develops promotional campaigns;
  3. Coordinates with the Event and Promotions Manager in establishing contacts in the marketplace to produce new ideas for on-going special events;
  4. Prepares cost estimates and budgets for related marketing and event costs;
  5. Performs research and prepares proposals and assists in planning and budgeting of special events;
  6. Works directly with Marketing Staff to offer any scheduling updates, (new) special EVENTS AND entertainment offered;
  7. Coordinates and formulates with all departments to fulfill special events requirements;
  8. Coordinates with Marketing/Guest Services teams to meet the events staffing needs; supervises staff at offsite events;
  9. Responsible for preparing, seeking approval and disseminating event memos to Casino staff and public;
  10. Prepares follow-up reports regarding effectiveness of offsite events.
  11. Evaluates the success of special EVENTS AND casino entertainment on an on-going basis;
  12. Establishes performance guidelines and protocols for the Events Assistant;
  13. Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same.
  14. Acts as a team player fully prepared to step into any office job when required to keep the projects moving in a timely and efficient manner.
  15. Commits to the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy.

  17. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job.

  21. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisors Coordinator, Events and Promotions.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
  1. Minimum of three (3) years events experience required; Prior casino marketing experience preferred;
  2. Strong public speaking abilities and stage presence a must; bilingual a plus;
  3. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet or exceed established timelines;
  4. Must have excellent PC skills (MS-Windows, MS-Office Suite, and Database applications);
  5. Must be a team-player and work effectively with subordinates, co-workers and management;
  6. Must be familiar with all Casino services and Marketing programs;
  7. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  8. Must possess strong administrative and organizational skills;
  9. Must present a professional appearance and demeanor;
  10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays;
  11. Valid California Drivers License (CDL) required.

EDUCATION:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  2. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  1. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
  3. Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence.
  4. Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:
  1. Ability to proactively streamline processes for company's return on investment.
  2. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  3. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  5. Ability to apply regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts, and policy to practical situations.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
  1. Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  2. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  1. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  2. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  3. Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  4. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist and grip items.
  5. Must be able to respond to visual and audio cues.
