EVENT SPACE ASSISTANT, Media Lab, to manage E14/E15 Event Space scheduling, maintenance, and customer service. Will coordinate logistics for sequential events; meet with event host to review work orders and ensure host is prepared for the event; serve as an information resource for room reservation and use policies, i.e., check for space availability, explain scheduling procedures, etc.; lead the development of policy, instructions, and use for Event Spaces; when possible, creatively handle novel requests for use of space (e.g., drones) and effectively resolve conflicts and troubleshoot problems; teach event hosts how to reserve space, create work orders, etc.; effectively and proactively monitor information flow with MIT departments (Facilities, Audio-Visual, Campus Activities Complex, MIT Police), event hosts, outside vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful events, especially when there are sequential events in one day; and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma; at least three years’ experience in administrative or event management and/or the hospitality industry; excellent judgment; excellent organizational, interpersonal, email management, and verbal and written communication skills; accuracy and close attention to detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through on assignments in a fast-paced office with tight deadlines and work independently and as part of a team with a diverse group of people; strong computing skills, including experience with G Suite, MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; ability to gain new technical skills quickly; and ability to move weights of up to 50 lbs.
