Event Associate

Work for New York City’s fastest growing black-owned event venue brand! Currently seeking experienced staff for venue in Harlem, NY.

HANDS ON event hospitality background is a must. Typical events are Thursday-Sunday nights. FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY NIGHTS REQUIRED (4pm-1am).

Responsibilities include:

· Carefully and cautiously move furniture for event set up and breakdown (must be able to lift at least 30 pounds with another person)

· Greet clients, guests, and vendors (dj, caterer, event planners, etc.) to review procedures, answer questions and solve problems

· Make rounds to clean up spills, take out trash, change paper in bathrooms throughout event

· Make rounds to clear tables of garbage throughout event

· Ensure guests are not in stairway, blocking exits, or sitting on arms of couches throughout event

· Work with other staff to ensure proper maintenance of the venue, including small fixes of equipment (may include hammer, nails, screws, hot glue, small painting projects) and also reporting broken items or things needing repair

· Maintain and promote event venue’s reputation through relationships with guests

· Hold self and other staff accountable to maintain standards of excellence

Minimum Requirements:

· Event crew, catering and/or hospitality experience

· Ability to stand on feet for 7 hours

· Ability to be observant of surroundings

· Good time management (shows up on time, adheres to schedule for tasks within event)

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $150.00 - $200.00 per day

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Weekend availability
• Weekends only
