BGIS is currently seeking a EV Project Foreman to join the team Baltimore, MD

The Electrician will work with other Electricians on commercial electrical projects installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. The Electrician will also work on power distribution, power systems, and other systems (fire alarm, audio/visual, automation) and low voltage power distribution. The Electrician will work with a variety of documentation on any given project including submittals, Change Orders, RFI's, Purchase Orders, and subcontracts to ensure a high quality of work. The Electrician shall be responsible for the quality of their work, level of output in relation to expected production of work and job site safety. The Electrician will assist in the implementation and management of project goals and any other duties as directed by the Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate with project management team regarding RFI's, FWT's Change Orders and Material requests.
  • Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite.
  • Maintain and Complete Required Shell Documentation and submit digitally for reporting.
  • Complete the Hold Point for the Shell Projects and report digitally to the APM or PM.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Provide on-site supervision,
  • Identify areas of work that are outside of scope contracted.
  • Establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction.
  • Responsible for identifying required materials and equipment necessary for the completion of the assigned projects.
  • Generates high quality work in alliance with the vision and mission of Advanced Power Technologies.
  • Manage their work to ensure it meets the critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Self-perform quality control checks and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communicate with immediate supervisors regarding RFI's, FWT's, Change Orders and Material requests.
  • Identify non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to immediate supervisors and/or management team for resolution.
  • Ensure that their personal works space is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, components, systems, and fixtures using hand tools or power tools.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit, using hand bender.
  • Install conduit and junction boxes inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Test electrical systems (troubleshoot) or check for continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as an ohmmeter and/or voltmeter to test electrical equipment or systems to ensure proper function.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment assigned to employee in good working order.
  • Ensure that work is in accordance with all relevant codes.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches or moving and/or lifting heavy objects.
  • Supervise all technicians under his/her direction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES
  • Must be able to travel to multiple jobsite(s) as assigned.
  • Overnight travel is required. Length to be determined by project necessity.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 5 years of experience in large feeder distribution, medium voltage system installation, switchgear, generators, fire alarms, layout capabilities, and supervisory skills is a plus.
  • Possesses a journeyman's license or master electrician license. (Preferred)
  • Understand plans and specifications to identify types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Leadership skills with past successful project execution, preferred.
  • Experience in commercial electrical construction and a thorough working knowledge of the NEC is required
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience with contract documents (contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications, and change orders).

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Operating motor vehicles.
  • Communicates with employees, customer, vendors, and leadership to perform job duties. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
