All Extended School Year (ESY) Speech Language Pathologist positions will be filled through this job posting for ALL ESY locations:
- North - Semper Elementary
- Central Elementary - Prospect Valley Elementary

- Mountain - West Jefferson Elementary
Hiring preference will be given to current Jeffco Public Schools Employees.
ESY will be Monday - Friday mornings and held in two sessions. Session 1 will be June 3 - June 14 and Session 2 will be June 17 - June 28 (No classes on June 19 for Juneteenth).
You may choose to work either session or both and can state your preference at the time of interview.
Licensed staff will have two mandatory preparation days on May 30 and May 31.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide ongoing training and monitoring of school clinic functions and delegated tasks at assigned District sites per District protocols and guidelines.
Provide training, delegation, and monitoring of medication administration to identified staff and student health procedures that are necessary to support student health needs in the school setting according to District policies, state law, and Board of Nursing requirements.
Provide direct care to support student health needs as necessary as identified through District nursing guidelines.
Collaborate with parents and health providers to develop, implement, and review individualized Student Health Plans appropriate to the school setting for those students identified with significant health concerns including acute, chronic, or life-threatening conditions.
Consult and participate in educational planning and health education with school staff to promote and improve student school attendance and performance.
Serve as a health liaison and maintain on-going communication with parents and students, administrators, clinic aides, school staff, health providers, and community agencies to support student attendance and academic performance.
Act as a resource for mental health promotion by connecting families with resources, and by serving as a member of the District Mental Health Crisis Response Team.
Consult on communicable disease prevention and control and public health issues as they arise according to District guidelines, local and state public health agency guidelines and laws.
Participate in the District School Medicaid Program goals including enrollment referrals to Medicaid and CHP+ programs, and the documentation of billable services for eligible students.
Participate in the District Child Abuse and Neglect training and serve as requested as a member of Jefferson County Child Protection Team.
Assume responsibility for attending required staff professional development, attending continuing education opportunities that contribute to best practice professional competency, and which contributes to the professional growth of others.
Participate as qualified Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR/AED/First Aide Instructor to support District CRR/AED/First Aid Staff training.
Participate on selected committee work and task forces as request.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid Colorado Driver?s license. Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science/BSRN educational training. Valid Colorado state license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Department of Regulatory Agency (DORA) certification prior to hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current CPR/AED/BLS Provider Certification and Qualistar trained instructor or within 90 days of hire. Prefer experience or education in the following areas: school nursing; pediatric and adolescent nursing including clinical experience in acute, chronic illness, development disabilities, mental health, substance abuse support; and Nurse/Masters prepared within nursing or health domain or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, community or public health nursing.

The majority of time is spent on the school site including special program sites such as Outdoor Education Lab and Jeffco Transition Services.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, use interpersonal skills, coordinate, instruct, interprets and assess student health information, and use strong decision making and analytical skills .
