This position is responsible for developing cost estimates, development, and construction schedules ranging from rough-order-of-magnitude level to detailed working cost estimates, guiding owner selections and presenting the results in a format suitable for use by the client and design team. We are looking for someone who has excellent people and communication skills and is able to think outside of the box for creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
- Proactive, flexible, team player who is comfortable working in a small company environment and taking on a leadership role
- Prepare development and construction capital cost estimates, cost estimates, specifications, and construction schedules, and prepare production operating schedules.
- Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Ability to work on a fast pace environment with the capability to switch tasks with short notice
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Participate in project economic evaluations, and offer value engineering ideas.
- Assist in other areas required to deliver a quality product on schedule and on budget.
- Manage documentation and cost/ profit analysis.

- Responsible for accurate and timely estimating and management of assigned projects. Projects are bid with accurate pricing, scope, specification, and production rates.
- Manages jobs according to schedule, on budget, and at or above bid-day gross profit margin.
- Scope of Work is completed to the Company standard of quality and professionalism.
- Qualifications
- Relevant training and/or certification with a project cost estimating department or organization and 3-5 years of experience working in a similar capacity.
- Experience with preparing construction cost estimates is preferred.
- The position must have competence with analysis, numeration, research, and the use of spreadsheet and scheduling software (the minimum requirement is proficiency in Excel and experience with database cost estimating software (BuilderTrend or similar project management software experience is highly desirable).
- Proven experience with the organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving in time-sensitive situations.
- This position must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and possess above-average written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work well in a team environment is also essential for this position.
- Comprehension of all units of measure, able to convert between various units of measure.
- Strong mathematical skills, grounded in algebra, geometry, and simple math.
- Computer literacy computer estimating, complete competency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Master Builder.
- Impeccable multi-tasking, problem-solving and negotiation skills with an orientation to timelines
