Job Summary:
Truestone is hiring an Equipment Cleaner to support the Tobyhanna Depot Contract in Tobyhanna, PA.
Job Requirements:
Checks items to ensure completeness of cleaning.
Operates blasting guns incorporated in leak proof cabinets, utilizing an abrasive such as zinconia-oxide and a patented abrasive to remove paint, rust, and foreign substances from equipment and/or metal surfaces.
Cleans a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment by dipping the equipment into immersion tanks which utilize ultra-sonic vibration methods; if necessary, disassembles uncomplicated equipment to facilitate handling and cleaning; and removes heavy deposits of dirt, grease, and other adherent material by the use of scrapers, wire brushes or solvents.
Places the item being cleaned from the tank after the proper time has elapsed, and using an air hose, dries the equipment to remove heavy moisture, either by hand or by use of hydraulic hoist.
Occasionally required to make adjustments and preventive maintenance repairs on equipment.
Work assignments involve standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and crouching in strained and awkward positions for prolonged periods of time.
May occasionally work on a step ladder or low-level scaffolding.
Required to lift, move, or carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
May require inside or outside work with the continuous exposure to dirt, grease, dust, hearing hazards, eye and skin injuries, caustic burns, acid and chemical burns, and irritation to the respiratory tract.
Floors may be wet, and worker is subject to possible slipping and falling.
Minimum Qualifications:
Able to use air activated sanders (vibrators), disc grinders, wire brushes, wire wheels, steel wool, putty knives, etc., and capable of operating a rotary blast machine utilizing steel abrasive.
Must have sanding, masking, power washing or auto body shop experience in support of any and all major systems in the refinishing process.
Must have experience using chemicals (e.g., poly-coat and iridite) to protect bare metal surfaces prior to being painted; and paint strippers to remove heavily painted areas.
Must be able to operate steam cleaning, power wash equipment, and the Hydro Blast Machine.
Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
