The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for performing onsite work including characterizing, segregating, documenting, and labeling hazardous and non- hazardous materials and waste at the facility. Updating SDS, properly storing onsite chemicals, and preparing all appropriate required documentation to meet State, EPA, and DOT regulations. Will work closely with the contract Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator on a daily basis. This position also assists the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator develop and implement safety programs and policies, train personnel on new protocols, and ensure that the organization is in compliance with all health and safety regulations. Train employees on safety policies and practices, conduct regular inspections, generate health and safety assessment reports, and ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are adhered to.
