What You'll Do

As a Network Security Engineer with a focus on Firewall, Nextgen Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies, you will work as a Consultant in our Professional Services organization at Burwood. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary consulting practice that delivers solutions using a wide variety of technologies and solutions, including traditional firewalls, Nextgen Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Content Filtering, LAN/WAN/Wireless, as well as Public/Private Cloud Security.

In this role, you can expect to be involved in:

• Project planning, solution design, technical deployments, and tactical support for our clients.
• You will spend a significant portion of your time engaging with clients, developing and presenting network security designs, planning deployments, executing projects, and providing technical support. 
•  Stay up to date with the latest advancements in enterprise security technologies through training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions with colleagues.
• You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and technologies, making each day both challenging and exciting.
• You will be responsible for designing and implementing network security solutions that protect our clients' networks from cyber threats.
• Your expertise in Network Security, including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies, will be key in completing project objectives, ensuring that Burwood provides tailored solutions that meet client needs.

As an experienced Network Security Consultant, you have a proven track record of designing and implementing new network security solutions while improving the efficiency of current systems.  You have conducted assessments of network security infrastructure and practices to ensure security/compliance requirements are met while also developing forward-looking strategies and technology roadmaps.

In your role, you have been responsible for analyzing and solving complex network security problems, using your expertise to research problems, conduct assessments, and evaluate new security technologies. You develop highly detailed designs, plans, and post-project documentation to ensure that security systems are well-documented and easy to maintain.  You methodically plan, research, evaluate, design, and develop network security systems by applying best-practice design theories and principles to develop high-quality security infrastructure in line with client security requirements. Additionally, you work to broaden your own capabilities by continuing to educate yourself on new security technologies, trends, and business requirements.

As a valued member of your team, you have experience performing a range of assignments across multiple network security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security systems.  Your strong attention to detail and technical skills are critical to ensuring that your clients' networks are well-protected from cyber threats.

The Tech Stuff

• 10+ years of experience in network security consulting with a focus on Firewall design/deployment/consulting, securing application hosting environments.
• Proven experience with Next-Generation Firewall on multiple platforms, such as Palo Alto, Cisco FTD, Fortigate, and/or Checkpoint is required.
• In-depth understanding of network security protocols, tools, and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of best practices for securing network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection.
• Experience with network performance analysis and optimization in a secure environment.
• Knowledge of cloud security, including public and private cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
