Emergency Equine Surgeon

Are you a skilled and dedicated equine veterinary surgeon seeking a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team? We are currently looking for a passionate professional to fill a one-year position with the potential for extension in our well-established equine veterinary practice in beautiful Colorado!
We are looking for a veterinarian interested in emergency medicine and surgery to join our after-hours emergency surgery team. Candidates should be board-certified, or surgery residency trained in large animal surgery, or a board-certified diplomate or residency trained veterinarian in large animal emergency and critical care (ECC) that is comfortable handling surgical colic cases. Flexible schedule includes working two nights a week and nights every other weekend, along with rotational coverage of holidays with the 3 other surgeons. Offered wage (annual salary): $120,000/year. Along with the offered wage, discretionary compensation and benefits include emergency and consultation fees, time off, and sick leave under the Colorado HFWA, PHE and employment benefits including medical, dental, vision, LTD, professional liability, professional license, membership dues, continuing education, and retirement. Two months’ paid time off for boards preparation if applicable.
Littleton Equine Medical Center is a 22-veterinarian full service, primary care, referral, and emergency facility capable of providing a variety of services. We have an in-house laboratory, a fully staffed ICU and experienced surgical team, in a fun and supportive atmosphere. We offer a strong culture of collaboration, with 3 other ACVS surgeons and a boarded internist, as well as visiting students and 6 veterinary interns. Our facility has 4 treatment areas, a surgical suite with all the toys and an assisted recovery area, 12 hospital stalls, 10 ICU stalls, 2 isolation stalls, and 2 respiratory condos.
