Job Summary:
Performs standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic procedures, including all aspects of EEG epilepsy monitoring and electrocorticography Assists in developing and implementing educational programs for residents and other medical/technical staff. Completes all necessary documentation for departmental records, patient procedures, etc.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Performs standard and complex EEG recordings according to established lab protocol, and guidelines set forth by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
A) Performs EEG recordings, including wake and sleep, nasopharyngeal studies, bedside, electrocerebral inactivity (ECI) evaluations and 24 hour ambulatory EEGs.
B) Summarizes the patient's neurological status and clinical history and completes the documentation needed for physician interpretation, including history sheets, labeling of tracing, etc.
C) Monitors EEG and other special studies during angiograms, sodium amytal studies, etc.
D) Performs long term epilepsy monitoring to evaluate patients with paroxysmal disturbances of cerebral function, electrocorticography and cortical mapping.
Supports all functions, goals and objectives of the department as well as development of any new programs that involve the Neurophysiology Lab and Epilepsy Unit.
Provides assistance in the day-to-day operation of the Neurophysiology lab.

Job Specifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of Neurodiagnostic Technology preferred or equivalent training. Prior experience in epilepsy preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least two year's experience performing EEGs if not a graduate of an accredited school of Neurodiagnostic Technology. Epilepsy experience helpful but not required.
REQUIRED COURSE: (licensure/certification) Registered or registry eligible by ABRET in EEG (R. EEG T.)
