About the Position
As an Electrical Safety Program Administrator at Central Arizona Project (CAP) based in North Phoenix, you would be part of a small yet critical team and be responsible to develop, review, administer, and update all CAP Electrical Safety Clearance and Programs and procedures. Additionally, you would coordinate the management of these programs with the Safety Department to maintain CAP's compliance with all governmental regulations and industry standards regarding safe electrical work practices. You would provide direction to all supervisors, crafts and maintenance workers in the proper application of all electrical safety and Clearance programs and work activities. These programs include:
- Electrical Safety Program
- Hazardous Energy Control Program (Lockout/tagout and clearance)
- High Voltage/Switchman Training and Authorization Program
- Personal Protective Grounding Program
A successful candidate will have five years of experience as a substation electrician or lineman with experience in the maintenance and operation of power generation, transmission, and distribution facilities; OR five years of experience as a Central Arizona Project electrician and three years as a certified switchman; OR be an electrical engineer with five years of related experience. Additionally, you will need to have a HS diploma/GED, a valid driver's license with a good driving record, be willing to do some in-state travel, and have the skills necessary to develop, maintain, and communicate CAP's Hazardous Energy Control and Electrical Safety Programs and provide training for employees.
