The successful applicant will serve as the electrical authority for the Mill Hall site. The electrical engineer will own the design and upkeep of site electrical equipment from low voltage instrumentation to 480V power systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering expertise to offer solutions using hardware design, software design, installation, startup, commissioning and ongoing support to improve electrical safety on an existing product offering.
- Lead and conduct problem solving efforts and propose resolutions. Perform and/or participate in risk analysis activities (PHA’s, PSSR, MOC, etc) as the need arises to support project work. Apply observation and analytical tools to implement robust solutions that align with the National Electric Code.
- Complete electrical equipment and area assessments to ensure all equipment meets area classification requirements.
- Work with outside vendors to aid in successful solution implementation. Assess, select, and lead external contractors for project and service requirements.
- Lead electrical preventative maintenance program and prepare written reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing pertinent electrical data. Maintain legacy equipment and develop plans to replace obsolete equipment.
- Provide programming and troubleshooting support as needed for the DCS system, VFD’s, PLC’s, and instrumentation. Provide guidance to the maintenance team for installation and upkeep of instrumentation and control equipment.
- Develop and maintain electrical system schematics.
- Attend NEC NFPA 70 code training courses to stay current with updated electrical standards
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Ability to develop, implement, monitor, measure, and control functional improvement plans.
- Problem solving and decision analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence others and coordinate, balance and prioritize multiple projects and internal/external resources.
- Ability to support 24/7 operations
- Strong PC skills: Google Suite, MS Office, AutoCAD
Preferred:
- 3+ Years of electrical work in a manufacturing environment.
- Firm understanding of applicable electrical codes including NFPA 70E
- Experience with distributed control systems and control instrumentation
- Familiarity with 480V power systems
