The Electrical Designer is responsible for the Design and Documentation of custom Robotic Automation Systems. This position requires a strong technical ability in the fields of controls and electrical design and is for a motivated individual who enjoys a variety of responsibilities. A drive to learn and expand skills and responsibilities is a must.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze proposal product, equipment, customer specifications and process requirements to conceive and produce a practical controls design
- Develop controls designs, that are compliant with customer specifications and industry standards.
- System design and specification including bill of materials, wiring schematics.
- Ability to interact professionally with other departments, customers and suppliers
Requirements
Skills/Abilities:
- Required minimum 3 years' experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with Fieldbus technologies (ex: Ethernet, IOLink)
- Standard industrial panel designs & components
- Wiring methods
- Power distribution wiring
- Communications layout
- Component sizing and wiring
- Familiarity with CE, UL, NFPA, RIA, etc.
- Capable of reading electrical drawings in JIC as well as IEC standards
- Machine labeling syntax of electrical wiring, components, hoses, etc. and how to document this information in the schematics
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of direct industry experience.
- Familiarity with interfacing to robots.
- Requires excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to travel locally and long-distance to customer sites to do field checks.
