ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER
The Electrical Controls Engineer will work as a member of the Engineering team to support the design and development of all aspects of the Electrical Controls system for our line of custom machine tools and supporting equipment. Position will involve writing and developing code for our custom CNC controller and/or third-party PLCs. Position may also include programming and integration of 6-axis robots into machine cells.
The selected candidate will receive on-the-job training for our custom CNC controller, HMI, and software.
Required Qualifications:
- Completed training in the field of electrical engineering or control technology.
- Creative, innovative, and eager to learn.
- Advanced user of PC based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or EPLAN.
- Experience in the use of electronic test equipment and operation of various handheld tools.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US passport.
- Must complete a background check and physical.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely in a variety of different industrial manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from a 4-year accredited college/university.
- 1-3 years of work experience CNC or PLC/HMI programming.
- 1-2 years of work experience programming 6-axis industrial robots.
- Functional knowledge of ISA standards and National Electrical Code.
- Functional knowledge of various communication protocols including Profibus and EtherCAT.
- Functional knowledge of industrial safety systems and requirements.
- Knowledge of general industrial electronics.
- Knowledge of machinery design principles.
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Independent, accountable, and capable of working unsupervised.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, testing, and implementation of all logical code governing machine tool cell functions for a given project. This could include integration of custom CNC, third party PLC, and Robot Controller.
- Programming, configuration, and integration of servo drive modules from various manufacturers.
- Tune and optimize control loops on multi-axis machinery.
- Provide phone, email, and virtual support to customers and service technicians.
- Document and maintain detailed records of all processes for internal purposes and customer documentation.
- Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to urgent customer issues.
Travel:
- International and domestic travel is required for this position. Advance notice will be given whenever possible.
- This is a low to medium travel position (~15%) with travel possible throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
- Travel compensation and per diem is provided.

Pay Range:
- Salary $60k-75k per year negotiable for candidates with extensive relevant experience.
