MERS Missouri Goodwill's mission is "Changing lives through the power of work." MERS Missouri Goodwill provides a variety of programs and services to help support this mission. Some of the many programs and services offered are career counseling, skills training, education and literacy programs, employment services, and more.
Essential/Primary Functions:
1. Untangles, sorts, and matches donated jewelry
2. Sort for quality, category, removing broken or damaged items
3. Identify possible precious metals (Gold, Silver, Platinum, etc.) and gems (Diamonds, Rubys, etc.) for a listing
4. Identify possible vintage, antique, and high-end desirable fashion jewelry for listing.
5. Pair and affix earrings to cards and necklaces to necklace-hangers.
6. Count and package jewelry for retail store sale in a neat, organized, and accurate manner, without damaging items
7. Assist, monitor, and record incoming jewelry
8. Assist supervisor to prepare store orders and ensure timeliness
9. Prepare production station before shift and clean the station after your shift
10. Interacts in a professional, positive, and factual manner.
11. Works cross-functionally with other E-Commerce teams to increase communication.
12. Safeguards agency assets from damage, loss, or theft.
13. Report incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets to supervisor and/or loss prevention.
14. Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation.
15. Contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions, keeping aisles and designated walkways debris free.
16. Immediately communicate workplace incidents or accidents to on-duty member of management.
17. Reads and follows all operational procedures and agency employee handbook polices
18. Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
19. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
No Educational or physical experience is required (On the job training provided)
Employee is required to sit for extended periods up to 4 hours at a time
Persistent and repetitive bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, of up to 40 pounds
Must have the ability to make independent, appropriate decision without prompting
Must be able to self-direct as needed
Requires an ability to communicate effectively verbally with co-workers and management team
Basic math skills are a must
Requires physical dexterity to manipulate and detangle small jewelry items without damage
Must uses warehouse equipment (hand trucks and dollies) to safely and effectively move products
