POSITION TITLE: Doula & Perinatal Services Manager

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Women's Health

DEPARTMENT/ SITE: Women's Care Bay City & Old Town

STATUS: Exempt, Salary

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Doula & Perinatal Services Manager is responsible for all activities related to the coordination of doula/perinatal CHW services for eligible GLBHC patients. With a focus on maternal and child health, and improving birth outcomes, the manager is responsible for facilitating training and (re)certification of staff as doulas/perinatal CHWs, overseeing caseloads and assignments, conducting outreach activities, and providing quality assurance via auditing documentation for accuracy as compared to billing activity. Develops/implements performance standards and evaluates employees based on these standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

 

1.       Collaborates with the Doula Consultant and Director of Women's Health regarding program and policy development and revisions.

2.       Facilitates the orientation, education and (re)certification of doulas/perinatal CHWs by planning and facilitating trainings in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Training & Development, Doula Consultant, and Director of Women's Health.

3.       Coordinates delivery of doula/perinatal CHW services for GLBHC patients including caseload assignments and schedules.

4.       Maintains responsibility for the hiring and supervision of program staff, including prescreening and interviewing, the completion of Career Development Reviews for assigned staff, approving payroll related items, and administering correction action as needed, all within a timely manner.

5.        Ensures accurate documentation and billing of doula/perinatal related services.

6.       Collaborates with the Women's Care OB/GYN providers and clinical staff, MIHP case managers, and WIC staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.

7.       Promotes doula/perinatal CHW services within the community by attending outreach events and collaborating with Marketing to develop materials.

8.        Conducts/participates in departmental meetings.

9.        Orders supplies and tools as needed.

 

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES

1.        Participates in special committee assignments as necessary.

2.        Represents GLBHC at community meetings as needed.

3.        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, social work, community health or a related field from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: Three years of related experience and/or training in public health community outreach, program development, and/or other community organizing related to maternal and child health. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

 Skills: Must possess computer skills. Problem identification and resolution, working toward mutually beneficial situations. Self-motivated. Decision maker. Able to function with minimal daily supervision. Organized and detail oriented.

Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a diverse population. Must possess appropriate professional attitude and behavior.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently. Must be able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, push, pull, and twist frequently throughout the workd ay.

Full-time; Monday through Friday; Flexible and varied. Must have timely, reliable attendance.

 Local travel between GLBHC sites and hospitals. Some out of service area travel may be required for conferences and seminars. Reimbursement in accordance with GLBHC travel policy.
