The Fauquier County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocacy Program works with the goal of strengthening our community so that individuals and families can thrive in safe, healthy, and equitable relationships. Our grant funded program Advocates specialize in supporting adults and children who have experienced all forms of relationship violence, stalking, SEXUAL ASSAULT and human trafficking. Advocates are trained to offer emotional support and information to empower survivors to focus on their needs.
We are looking for an experienced person can:
Respond to crisis calls; assessing safety needs and triage crisis situations;
Assess risk of physical/sexual abuse, providing preventative and supportive services to individuals at risk and their families;
Participate in client staffing and documentation;
Perform client intakes and/or assessments and safety planning; client-centered advocacy, referrals and case management with an empowerment based focus on participant identified goals;
Facilitate groups for survivors; and model healthy boundaries and communication.
Advocates respond to hotline emergency referrals and assess the need of clients and risk of abuse, including after hours on a rotating basis.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field, or a related field accompanied by a minimum of two years appropriate and related experience. Previous experience working with survivors is preferred. Bilingual skills are strongly preferred.
