Job Description:

This is professional work providing casework assistance for vocational rehabilitation clients or monitoring client/reimbursement activities.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Interviews clients to assess their resources and make referrals for appointments.
  • Implements necessary procedures to acquire or purchase medical/psychological information and arranges for the necessary medical evaluations at the direction of the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
  • Schedules client training and make appointments for treatment.
  • Accompanies clients when purchasing clothing, tools, equipment, or similar items.
  • Performs job placement and job development activities for clients.
  • Resolves client transportation issues.
  • Follows-up on cases and maintains client contact through telephone calls and home visits, as needed.
  • Reviews data for accuracy and completeness, performs research, records and traces documents.
  • Maintains specialized records, compiles information on costs, budgets and other data for reporting purposes.
  • Coordinates out-of-district services for clients, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.  Experience in a counseling, job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

 STATE OF FLORIDA EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

  • State pays 80% of premium for health insurance - employee pays $180 (family) or $50 (individual) monthly.

Background Screening Requirement:

It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment undergo level 2-employment screening in accordance with the requirement of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment of being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

All applicants for employment or to volunteer who are selected for an interview will be provided with the Consent to Background Screening form for level 2 screening, the Affidavit of Good Moral Character, and the Notice of Rights.  The leading candidate for employment or to volunteer will be required to execute the Consent form and Affidavit, report to a designated location, and submit fingerprints for level 2 screening.
