Job Description - DMV & Statistical Reporting Analyst (11007555D20230531)Job DescriptionDMV & Statistical Reporting Analyst ( Job Number: 11007555D20230531 )DISCOVER your opportunityExton, PA I USAThe Regulatory Operations Department is committed to bringing together Service, Data, Compliance and Quality Support for all Operating Business Units of AXA XL.As part of the Regulatory Operations Department, the Statistical Reporting Team maintains the compliance of AXA XL Insurance with the Statistical Organizations of the industry as it pertains to mandatory reporting of Property & Casualty (P&C) business.All P&C insurance companies, including AXA XL Insurance, must comply with the data reporting mandates of the Statistical Organizations.The Statistical Reporting Unit ensures ongoing statistical reporting compliance for each of the U.S. based P&C companies and therefore all Operating Business Units utilizing these papers and submits statistical data to the National Advisory and Statistical Organizations, for the purpose of ratemaking and experience rating, according to the requirements and timelines they prescribe.The DMV & Statistical Reporting Analyst is responsible for effectively extracting/collecting, preparing and submitting transactional level statistical and financial data to the P&C industry Statistical Organizations, including Insurance Services Office (ISO), Texas Insurance Checking Office (TICO) Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), Independent Statistical Service, Inc. (ISS), Massachusetts Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers (MA CAR) and the Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA), andGroupement des assurers automobiles (GAA).In addition to the Stat reporting responsibilities this position will be involved in DMV/Auto Liability Reporting. The position will be responsible for building out a package of reports on a scheduled basis to be distributed to our Underwriting and Broker management groups as well as external brokers with the goal to provide insight into the timeliness and accuracy of our Auto Liability Reporting (DMV). In addition, this position will be tasked with holding monthly/quarterly meeting with internal and external stakeholders to assist in educating them in the Auto Liability process as well as potential issues for our company and insureds if reporting is not completed accurately and timely.DISCOVER your opportunityWhat will your essential responsibilities include?
- Ensures statistical reporting compliance for each US-based P&C company of XL Insurance, to include all direct admitted U.S. and Puerto Rico business excluding Aircraft, A & H, Ocean Marine, and Credit insurance.
- Ensures statistical reporting compliance for XL Specialty, to include all direct admitted Canadian General Liability and Auto business.
- Extracts and collects statistical data from all source systems.
- Analyzes and reconciles statistical data from all source systems for timely submission of valid and balanced information to the Statistical Organizations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Responds to inquiries from the Statistical Organizations requesting clarification on data submitted to their office as well as internal inquiries regarding statistical reporting rules in a timely manner.
- Assists the Statistical Reporting Team in support efforts for new business initiatives of AXA XL.
- Implements effective and useful reports and processes to aid in improvement of data quality.
- Proactively identifies areas for development and implements revisions and automation to internal statistical reporting processes for gained efficiency and greater throughput.
- Maintains a statistical reporting diary and library for accurately monitoring reporting requirement assignments, deadlines and status as well as up-to-date process documentation.
- Meets all deadlines imposed by the Statistical Organizations as well as AXA XL management in consideration of possible penalties for late/inaccurate reporting.
- Assist with reporting AXA XL insured vehicle data to state DMVs per state regulatory requirements and resolution of any data quality issues or vehicle registration suspensions due to insurance reporting
- Creation of package of metric reports that provide insight into Auto Liability timeliness and data quality to be distributed to internal and external parties.
- Facilitating quarterly meetings with internal and external parties to discuss Auto Liability Data Quality and educate on the process and to mitigate any late reporting.
- With Assistant Manager’s guidance, involved in various aspects of Statistical Reporting related projects. This may include communicating/interactions with various AXA XL departments including but not limited to IT, business units, Data Integration.
- Supports Regulatory Operations miscellaneous projects as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in business accounting or finance, or similar, from a four-year college or university, or equivalent business experience required
- Excellent analytical and logic skills
- Proven ability to problem-solve independently, as well as work in a team environment
- Ability to multitask and work in an environment imposed by stringent reporting deadlines
- Ability to apply basic job knowledge to larger scale projects
- Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills, demonstrating both effective written and oral communication skills
- Keen professional interpersonal skills required for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, management, and external regulatory bureaus
- Robust computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and Access required
- Knowledge of insurance coverages and understanding of systems
- Detail oriented, thorough, organized and flexible
- Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts
- Some years of experience in a technical position in a statistical or financial reporting area preferred
