Essential Functions:
- Manage the assigned Distribution Center in a professional, safe, and efficient manner.
- Provide leadership by abiding by and enforcing all Delta Apparel procedures and policies. Lead by example.
- Provide training and growth opportunities to ensure a continually improving team of managers, supervisors, and associates.
- Protect the investment of the Delta Apparel stockholders by safeguarding finished goods inventory, the physical plant, and Distribution Center equipment.
- Provide for the security and safety of Distribution Center employees, buildings, equipment, and other assets.
- Provide leadership and guidance for each associate at the distribution facility.
- Counsel and mentor in an effort to educate, improve skills, and maintain low turnover.
- Provide assistance to other areas of the company as needed. Work with factories, customer service, and IT to improve service and communication amongst both internal and external customers.
- Anticipate and prepare for future needs and enhancements. Communicate with detailed plans and schedules.
- Encourage involvement and input from facility staff.
General Job Duties:
- Promote and educate others in the areas of safety and human relations.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions and environment.
- Monitor and perform within budget. Create budgets with adequate back up detail and anticipation of business shifts.
- Instill in others an attitude of service and excellence.
- Ship orders on time and as requested by customers.

- Respond in an expedient manner to requests from other departments.
- Develop programs that will increase operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Insure that finished goods inventories are current, accurate, and balanced with ‘locator’ inventories.
