The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for leading demand planning, supply planning, and purchasing to ensure superior customer delivery while balancing inventory levels consistent with demand trends. This role will also lead the development and implementation of the supply chain strategy, processes, initiatives, and metrics to support company goals. This role will partner closely with Corporate Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales and product teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective production, inventory levels and delivery performance.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and create strategies and policies in supply chain, inventory, and warehousing, to optimize efficiencies.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Sales to drive operational excellence and best practices to improve key metrics including capacity utilization, lead times, inventory turns, on-time delivery, excess/obsolete inventory.
- Optimize purchasing activities to achieve the lowest material and parts cost without sacrificing manufacturing efficiency or on time delivery.
- Partner with procurement to ensure key strategic supplier partnerships are built to ensure optimization of raw material
- Develop and manage a sustainable S&OP process including facilitating input from key stakeholder groups including sales, product management and operations to ensure optimal service levels and exceed delivery metrics
- Recruit and develop talent to ensure supply chain is a competitive advantage; work closely with plant scheduling teams to ensure utilization of best-in-class tools and approaches
- Provide leadership for purchasing materials and warehouse and integrated supply chain planning operations - including the optimization and management of strategies, facilities, processes, suppliers, metrics and personnel to deliver high customer service. Build relationships with world class service partners, drive a culture of efficiency and compliance. Provide consistent communications and performance reporting for executive team and all stakeholders. Functional Leadership.
- Manage all warehouse operations, including delivery, inventory management, cost effectiveness, and maintenance of facilities. Work with the broader Merchandising, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams, to develop processes and systems for network optimization, inventory control, and SKU rationalization. Leverage use of ERP, MRP, WMS and related technologies and infrastructure to drive business value. Warehousing Operations.
- Work with leadership from each business to develop and implement a robust SIOP process that integrates demand, supply, and inventory planning capabilities. Coordinate across functions to develop and align on "the plan", including developing build-up and drill-down capabilities by product family. Set a supply strategy that is aligned with the business and translate that into executional actions. Ensure continuous improvement by leveraging best practices in the market with existing knowledge and know-how. Integrated Supply Chain Planning.
- Work with IT and Finance to enhance the capabilities of SAP so that it becomes an integral tool in how we manage purchasing, inventory management and order Processing. Enhance and Leverage SAP.
- . Oversee and execute process changes, improvement opportunities and technology upgrades, maintaining delivery accuracy and customer service levels as the organization grows and further integrates. Act as a catalyst and champion for process improvement and other strategic initiatives, driving change throughout the Supply Chain and across the organization. Partner regularly with business senior management, finance, and vendors and third-party providers to ensure solutions are understood and adoptedChange Enablement
- Nimble and entrepreneurial in nature - past success in an environment with limited resources. Demonstrated collaboration with the executive team and comfortable working at all levels within an intense, fast-paced environment. Cultural Fit.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
- A minimum of 12 years of experience overseeing supply chain operations with roles of increasing responsibility in supply chain over that time
- Must possess experience conducting high-level needs assessments from which actionable plans are developed and implemented
- Must have an extremely strong ability to assess organizational needs, understand the history of the organization, and adapt to and manage change
- Experience managing complex projects and budgets is required
- Process training and certification (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus
- Up to 30% travel required
