The department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Director, Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis to work in Hialeah. The Director, Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis, directs the teams' assessment and approval processes for the acquisition of clinical products, equipment, services, and technology resulting in the selection of the highest quality supplies and services to be used in fulfilling the University's mission. This role is responsible for creating effective sourcing strategies and vendor management techniques to create agreements and vendor relationships that meet the University's needs at the optimal value.
In addition, the Director, Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis optimize supply chain clinical and non-clinical value across UHealth. The incumbent will also organize and lead a strategic system-wide value analysis process across multiple service lines and departments to provide a cross-functional and collaborative high-performing, efficient and cost-effective process.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees and Directs Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis Managers to manage contracts projects to completion by Utilizing resources for qualitative and quantitative analysis to support sourcing decisions, contract negotiations, and contract development.
- Guides Value Analysis Team to cost savings targets, conversion/adoption project management, and coordinates education/training for clinical teams and executes evidence-based value process for clinical products, services, equipment, and technology.
- Facilitates relationships with physicians, key stakeholders, and executives to optimize the value for the UHealth related to value analysis initiatives (supplies and purchased services).
- Works with our Group Purchasing Organization to maximize contract penetration and compliance.
- Ensures compliance with legal requirements collaborating with General Counsel and Compliance as needed.
- Secures appropriate approval of subject matter experts including privacy, risk management, I.T., human resources, compliance, and other key stakeholders prior to escalating agreements for signature.
- Remains current on technology, regulatory and operational trends in the health care, academic industry and value analysis strategies which may impact product/service utilization or Value Analysis processes.
- Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on university policy and procedures.
- Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with university policies and procedures.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Management or Healthcare (RN or BSN) required; Business Administration or Clinical Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHP), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required; Supply chain experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Department Specific Functions
- Work with Purchasing to support contract compliance and supplier performance management.
- Review RFP's for approval prior to release.
- Review contracts negotiated by the team prior to escalating them for signature.
- Train contracting staff on university contracting requirements.
- Monitor sourcing team productivity and cycle time.
- Builds solutions oriented to address potential Value Analysis barriers.
- Works to resolve clinical backorders, substitutions, and conversions.
- Identifies supply and service standardization and utilization opportunities.
- Meets or exceeds organizational savings targets.
- Monitors target project completion dates and implemented savings by Value Analysis Committee.
